I haven’t posted a family photograph for months. Taking the tripod everywhere was becoming more of a stress, so we decided to take a break from it. But I couldn’t not take a trip to the lavender fields.
2 years ago we visited Norfolk Lavender, and honestly I was a little disappointed that there were no huge fields of lavender. So last year we made the drive to Hitchin Lavender and loved it. We went again yesterday, and I think it will probably become an annual tradition. This year we were lucky enough to see the sunflowers and the lavender.
This photo may become one of my favourite family photos. And its a bonus that we managed at least this one shot without people in the background. It gets super busy at the weekends!
July has been a good one for us. This year has felt like a difficult one. We have had a lot going on, and its all got a bit much at times. But right now it feels like the storm is passing, we are a week into the summer holidays, and we have the next 5 weeks to recharge our batteries and prepare for the next school term.
This month saw the end of term, which mean’t the end of nursery for Arthur, in just 5 weeks he will be starting full time school. He is more then ready, I’m not sure I am though! It has been a busy month of transition days, meeting new teachers. Running around at sports days, end of term picnics. It has also been the month I got my results for my first year studying with the Open University, I passed my first year with a distinction, which was a huge shock. We celebrated with a trip to Pizza Express and a bottle of wine!
August will hopefully see lots of picnics, trips to the beach, and lazy movie mornings. It will also see me turning 30, so far we have very little planned but James will be off work so hopefully the weather will be kind so we can have a day out somewhere nice.
For now I will leave you with lots more photos of our trip to the lavender fields, and I will be back with plenty more photo’s over the summer.
